IMPACT

"The impact of these (Global Courses) have been to a dimension of reawakening perhaps my inner soul, my being. The affliction and feeling that there is a vast world out there crying for help is now embedded and part of my everyday consciousness. Their cry is to have access to resources to fulfill their basic needs; water, food, shelter and clothing. This  has awakened my roots, the compassion I have towards humanity as a whole, and the desire to continue to access hands-on fieldwork searching for that linkage between theory and reality to keep my vision focused, clear and be of contribution."

‘The MAPCID Model© was developed by a group of four scholars from the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution of the Nova Southeastern University in a study abroad program in Ecuador. It is a product of collaborative observation and partnership between scholars and grass root programs in South America and North America. The scholars had a background and experience in different disciplines – both profit and non-profit – which facilitated gathering the insights to develop the model.’ - Susana Bertuna-Reynoso, Ph.D., co-author of MAPCID Model© and MAPCID© Journal Article.
